Hunter</strong>, 21, of Portsmouth, Ohio, was called home to be with his Lord on January 18, 2006. Steven is a devoted Christian fiercely committed to living a life close to God and showing others the way and the light. Steven attended Christ's Community Church. Steven was a junior at Milligan College, preparing for a career in law in order to be an advocate for Christian rights. Steven dearly loved Portsmouth High School, where he graduated in 2003. Steven played tennis at PHS and was on Milligan's Tennis Team. He was a Boy Scout, and an Explorer, working as a counselor at Camp Oyo. Steven worked as an intern in the District 2 Congressional office locally, and also in Washington, D.C. Steven loved nature and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, canoeing, hiking and especially fly-fishing. Steven loved playing his guitar and banjo. Steven passionately loved God, his family, and his country. Steven is survived by his father and mother, Mark Hunter and Virgie Jobe Hunter, who loved him very much. Also surviving are a brother, Christopher Kibbey of Indianapolis, Indiana, grandmothers Lucille Jobe of Waverly and Pauline Hunter of Rosemount, grandfather and his wife Roy and Thelma Hunter of Hill View Retirement Center, several uncles, aunts, and cousins. Steven is also survived by countless friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Steven A. Hunter Hope Fund at Portsmouth High School. A funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Christ's Community Church with Scott Rawlings officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
